Harden on a hot streak, leads Rockets past Nuggets
    2019-01-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

JAMES HARDEN is on a hot streak rarely seen in the NBA, and Monday night was no exception.

Harden dropped 32 points and had 14 assists in the Houston Rockets’ 125-113 win against the Denver Nuggets at the Toyota Center on Monday. While he’s had more productive offensive nights in recent weeks, there was one play in the first half that stood out above the rest — and reminded everyone just how great Harden is playing right now.

Late in the second quarter, Harden brought the ball up the floor and was ready to make a move while Denver point guard Jamal Murray was trying to defend him near the top of the key.

Suddenly, Harden broke out a behind-the-back move so dirty it sent Murray flying to the ground in the opposite direction. So Harden pulled up from behind the 3-point line.

Murray, determined to still make a play after being sent to the ground, jumped up and fouled Harden — except the reigning MVP didn’t seem to notice, and drained the 3-pointer anyway.

The Rockets held a 70-60 lead at halftime, thanks to 10 points from Harden in the final 1:49 of the quarter. From there, they held steady and built up an 18-point lead en route to their 12th win in 14 games.

Monday’s win marked Harden’s 13th straight game where he’s scored at least 30 points. He had gone five straight games scoring at least 40 points, however that streak was snapped Saturday in their loss to Portland. Only Kobe Bryant, Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson have accomplished that feat in the past 50 years.(SD-Agencies)
