MICK JAGGER — who has a few iconic moves up his sleeves — is reportedly working on a ballet set to Rolling Stones music. Ballerina Melanie Hamrick, with whom Jagger has a 2-year-old son, is choreographing her first ballet, which will feature some of the band’s tunes, entertainment website Page Six reported. Jagger is editing the original piece, which currently includes music from “Paint It Black,” “You Can’t Always Get What You Want,” and “She’s a Rainbow,” a source told the website. Hamrick, a native of Williamsburg, Virginia, is believed to be taking a leave from the American Ballet Theater, which she joined in 2004, until the spring. Her ballet is reportedly set to premiere in Russia in March before debuting in the United States in April. Back in November, Hamrick said on Instagram she was excited for her upcoming role in “The Nutcracker” as well as “other projects.” In October, the ballerina shared a video of herself with her son dancing to the Rolling Stones’ “Let’s Spend the Night Together” on the stage of the Lincoln Center Theater in Manhattan, writing in the caption: “Sneak peek!” The Rolling Stones, meanwhile, are scheduled to return to the United States for the first time since 2015 for the final leg of their No Filter Tour. They will begin in April 2019 in Miami, Florida, before traveling across several states including Arizona, California, and New Jersey. Their last U.S. show is currently planned for June 21 in Chicago, Illinois. (SD-Agencies) |
