Right up one’s alley 正合心意
    2019-01-14  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A: Could you emcee the company’s year-end gala?

B: It’s not right up my alley, but I’ll try it.

Note: Literally, one’s alley is the small street where one lives. Naturally a person is very familiar with the street in which they live, particularly when that street is small and narrow. If something is “up one’s alley,” it’s something they’re comfortable with and enjoy doing. Therefore, this idiom means “exactly one’s kind of thing; exactly what one is best equipped to do.”
