Themed “Chinese Dream, Fairytale Festival — Imagination, Creativity, Creation,” the 2018 Chinese Fairytale Festival and the 15th Shenzhen Fairytale Festival formally came to an end at Shenzhen Children’s Library on January 11. Since their launch in September 2018, the festivals have won the favor of children, teachers and parents. This year’s fairytale festivals centered on the fantastical fables through reading, performances, writing and painting. It also carried out activities such as recitations, storytelling, singing, dancing, drama, painting and calligraphy. According to statistics, the festival has attracted nearly 70,000 participants, providing a platform for contemporary children to express themselves to their fullest extent and showcase their talents. This year’s fairytale festivals featured many highlights. For instance, it marked the first time that fairytales were performed in the form of plays and during the summer vacation, a special project gathered eight excellent children’s drama troupes from across the country including Shaanxi, Hunan, Anhui, Henan and Shandong provinces, bringing captivating performances to audiences. The success of the festivals was also attributed to a number of excellent organizations, according to the organizers. They were recognized and commended for their efforts and achievements at the closing ceremony.
