ENTERPRISES and business owners in Shenzhen can now apply for and acquire an electronic business license from their home, as the whole process has been fully digitalized, according to the city’s enterprise registration bureau, the Shenzhen Economic Daily reported.

To receive an electronic business license, business owners should first complete facial recognition verification via one of two mini apps, either WeChat’s “工商电子营业执照” (industrial and commercial electronic business license) or Alipay’s “电子营业执照”(electronic business license).

Business owners should choose Shenzhen as their place of registration to complete the process. Also, the business license can be accessed, downloaded, printed or verified online at any time.

The city’s market and quality supervision commission launched the business license service on WeChat in December 2018, further improving the efficiency of business registration and government services, the Daily report said.
