A CAR that lost control while turning ran into a crowd of pedestrians on Lijia Road in Henggang Subdistrict, Longgang District, last week.

One was killed and another five were injured. The driver, surnamed Zheng, has been detained for drunk driving. A blood test showed his blood alcohol content had reached 172.75 mg per 100 ml.

A police investigation revealed Zheng had been drinking at a bar from 3 a.m. to 8 a.m. The accident happened as Zheng was driving home.
