Tax revenue

THE tax revenue of Shenzhen in 2018 reached 801.8 billion yuan (US$119 billion), an increase of 7 percent over the previous year, sources from the city’s taxation bureau showed. In 2018, the city exempted 241.1 billion yuan in taxes to improve the business environment.

Cold weekend

THE temperature in the city will drop Friday and Saturday because of cold air from the north, meteorologists said.

However, during the Spring Festival holiday, the weather will be nice and warm.

Minimum consumption

SOME restaurants have been criticized by the city’s consumer council for setting minimum consumption standards.

Three restaurants, including Four Seasons Hotel, set a standard of 60 yuan to 800 yuan per person for the use of private dining rooms.

An investigation into 25 restaurants revealed that nine restaurants had set up minimum consumption standards for family reunion dinners on the eve of the Spring Festival holiday. The minimum standard is 1,280 yuan per table.
