Flowers in bloom in Shenzhen Bay Park
    2019-02-21  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A FLOWER landscape in the Liuhuashan section of Shenzhen Bay Park opened yesterday to the public, according to the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily.

Residents can finally have their dream come true of facing a sea amongst spring blossoms, a scene described by contemporary Chinese poet Hai Zi, the Daily said.

The Liuhuashan section is  west to Shahe West Road and south to the Shenzhen Universiade statue in the Shenzhen Bay area. An important scenic spot in Shenzhen Bay Park, it was included in the city’s project to promote the quality of parks across the city in 2018, in a response to the goal of developing Shenzhen into a world-renowned flower city.

The core area of the Liuhuashan section, which stretches across 14,200 square meters, was subject to different renovations including adjustments to the terrain, cultivation of plants, recovery of park roads and the creation of hillsides decorated with various kinds of flowers.

The flower sea was designed to be primarily filled with spider flowers, while three colors of hibiscus, namely red, yellow and pink, were planted in parterres along a sightseeing lane that extends several kilometers.

Seven gallery frames were constructed in the wedding square for a vertical greening project, forming a three-dimensional scene together with the gardens on flat surfaces. (Wang Jingli)
