Visual artist Peter AC Nelson and independent curator Yang Jing will give a free lecture in English on video games and traditional Chinese landscape ink paintings. The event is part of the ongoing Shenzhen Independent Animation Biennale, which is being held at C2 in OCT-LOFT and Extra Time in Shekou. Yang is one of the curators of the animation biennale and Nelson has recently completed a PhD at City University Hong Kong, researching the historical implications of computer game landscapes. Nelson is a visual artist and academic working at the intersection of landscape theory and computer games. Originally trained in painting and drawing, Nelson currently produces exhibitions across a number of media, from painting and drawing, to animation, 3-D printed sculpture and interactive game-based systems.
