Activities organized to protect consumers
    2019-03-15  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A SERIES of activities were held Thursday in Xinqiao Subdistrict, Bao’an District, to mark International Consumers’ Day, which falls on Friday.

The activities were jointly organized by Bao’an Market Supervision Bureau, Bao’an Consumer Council, Xinqiao Subdistrict Office and Bao’an Self-Employed Enterprises Association.

The district’s related departments set up booths and inquiry desks to offer consultations for consumers relating to different types of commodities, food safety and distinguishing genuine medicines from fakes.

An online contest on knowledge about safeguarding consumers’ rights was launched Thursday. Residents can register via the official WeChat account of Coastal Bao’an to join the contest.

The consumer council and market supervision bureau have set up 290 consumer service stations in supermarkets, agricultural produce markets, eateries and electronics markets to serve consumers.

The district is also planning to establish a credit evaluation system by promoting credit QR codes in major areas, industries and enterprises. (Richard Han)
