Fuhai Children’s Experience Center planned
    2019-03-19  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A DETAILED plan for the construction of a high-level children’s experience center in Fuhai Subdistrict, said to be a model project in the city’s effort to build a children-friendly society, recently passed an expert review.

The project, Fuhai Children’s Experience Center, is located on Qiaohe Road, across from the Heping Market in Heping Community, the most crowded and bustling area in Fuhai Subdistrict. The center will be able to serve many nearby kindergartens and schools.

Fuhai Subdistrict was chosen by Shenzhen Women and Children Work Committee to pilot the children-friendly subdistrict project in 2018. The subdistrict, by referencing international standards on the issue, has worked out an action plan for developing a children-friendly subdistrict between 2018 and 2020, and rolled out incentives to attract private investment for the construction of a children-friendly subdistrict.

The Fuhai Children’s Experience Center will mainly service children under the age of 8, tapping their talents in language, logic, movement, music and other aspects.

With a floor area of 1,070 square meters, the children’s experience center will be divided into five exhibition areas, namely Space Trip, Nature Exploration, Sea Charm, Light of Sun and visitor workshops.

If the experience center opens in October, it will have set a record, as such projects generally require three years to complete, the Bao’an Daily said.

The Shenzhen city government first proposed to build a children-friendly city in 2016 and a year later Bao’an District put forward a proposal to build a children-friendly district.
