COOPERATION agreements have been signed on 11 projects attending the Third China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition, and letters of intent have been reached on another 75 projects, the organizer said at the closing of the Conference on International Exchange of Professionals (CIEP) at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center yesterday.

They were the winners out of the 1,850 entries submitted for the competition, which held preliminaries in 10 cities around the world.

The awards ceremony for the winners was a major sideline event of the CIEP.

The wider influence of CIEP also saw the debut of the China region final of Pitch@Palace, a qualifying contest for Pitch@Palace Global, a British business incubating initiative established by the Duke of York in 2014.

The top three winners in the final will be exposed to top global investors at Pitch@Palace in December. The 42 startup projects at the China region final were selected out of 30,000 applicants.

Pitch@Palace is a global contest being developed in 16 contest regions, and innovative projects from 61 countries and regions have participated in the prestigious contest. It was the first time that the China region contest had been held in Shenzhen.

The substantial progress of this year’s CIEP also saw 3,000 letters of intent on talent introduction signed by 3 p.m. yesterday.

As a platform for the exchange of international professionals, the event featured job fairs for expats, returned overseas professionals, high-end professionals and fresh college graduates, offering more than 40,000 vacancies.

The participating employers, including Tencent, Huawei, Ping An, Vanke and BYD, received 180,000 resumes from jobseekers and reached employment agreements with 30,000 applicants.

The organizer invited 4,000 organizations, training institutions, higher-learning institutes, high-tech enterprises and human resources agencies to participate in the conference. The Department of International Trade of the U.K., Cambridge Assessment International Education and University of Westminster signed MoUs with Chinese government education institutions and enterprises to enhance cooperation in professional exchanges and training, and matchmaking in strategic, core technologies and innovative projects.

Over the two days, the CIEP received 110,000 visits.
