Innovation contest launched
    2019-04-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE Second Beidou Star Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest was inaugurated at the opening of the Conference on International Exchange of Professionals in Shenzhen on Sunday.

The contest, organized by CNSS & LBS Association of China, Shenzhen Beidou Industry Network Research Institute and Shenzhen University, aims to develop a service platform for the industries associated with the Beidou navigation and positioning system, and cultivate startup teams and enterprises with core competencies.

According to the organizer, the projects in the contest must demonstrate the value and applications of Beidou technologies in different industries. The core members of the team must include at least three people, and the projects in the competition must not have any litigation with other enterprises.

Beidou is China’s Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS).

Beidou satellites will offer global coverage by 2020. The system can be widely used for navigation in shipping, road traffic, mapping and surveying, as well as precision agriculture, marine supervision and intelligent city construction.

The scale of the segmented market is expected to reach 2 trillion yuan (US$298 billion).
