TRAVELERS taking international flights operated by China Southern Airlines departing from Shenzhen can now purchase additional economic seats for self-use at cheaper prices.

The prices for additional seats for long-haul flights to Europe, America, Australia and the Middle East are 650 yuan (US$97.11) for the first additional seat, 1,200 yuan for the second additional seat and 1,700 yuan for the third seat.

For other international routes with trips exceeding four hours in duration, the prices for additional seats are set at 350 yuan, 650 yuan and 900 yuan, respectively. For international trips with flying time shorter than four hours, the prices are 250 yuan, 450 yuan and 650 yuan, respectively, according to a release by the airline’s Shenzhen company Wednesday.

This customized service can also accommodate oversized passengers, pregnant women, and passengers traveling with babies under age 2. However the services do not apply to upgrades from economy class to business class.

The service can be obtained via on-site purchase on the day of departure. Passengers requesting the service must inquire at the check-in counter when checking in at the Shenzhen airport. After all other passengers are checked-in, the airline staff will deliberate whether the sale of additional tickets will be available without interfering with other passengers’ arrangements.
