UNLEASH Innovation Lab is calling all change-makers and talents who demonstrate passion and commitment to solving the world’s pressing challenges, as the lab is now recruiting around 1,200 to 1,500 top talents from around the world for a week of innovation in Shenzhen from Nov. 6 to 13.

UNLEASH is a global innovation lab that brings together 1,000 of the world’s most talented people every year to find solutions for the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Originating as the concept of Flemming Besenbacher, the chairman of the Carlsberg Foundation and Carlsberg Group, UNLEASH is a nonprofit initiative started in 2017. It was held in Denmark and Singapore in 2017 and 2018, respectively. In 2019, the event will take place in Shenzhen.

After being selected, the talents will gather for the opening ceremony where speakers from around the world will introduce them to the SDGs and each other. The talents will then split into teams based on their focus regarding the SDGs.

The SDGs for this year’s lab include Good Health & Well-Being, Quality Education, Clean Water & Sanitation, Affordable & Clean Energy, Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure, Sustainable Cities & Communities, Responsible Consumption & Production, and Climate Action.

The teams will go through an innovation process designed by UNLEASH. After five days, the talents will pitch their ideas to mentors, experts and investors. The best solutions will be given awards and showcased at the closing ceremony.

According to UNLEASH, talents must pay a US$150 participation fee after being accepted, and the cost of flights, visas, local transport, accommodation, food, and the curriculum and program activities for the entire event will be fully covered by the lab.

The lab is open to entrepreneurs, intrapreneurs, scholars and technical experts aged 20 to 35. The talents are required to be highly proficient in English, able to engage in complex discussions with a creative and innovative mindset, and willing to cooperate with peers and experts.

Applications are open on the website, http://unleash.org, until Thursday.
