DUI-related death

A MAN surnamed Lin driving under the influence of alcohol was involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed one pedestrian in Chegongmiao, Futian District, on Saturday, police said.

Lin was caught seven hours later at his home in Nanshan District. It was the second time that Lin had driven under the influence of alcohol. Lin faces criminal prosecution.

Name-changing salon

A HAIR salon in Futian CBD was closed recently with a total of 500,000 yuan (US$74,405) in nonrefundable pre-paid funds.

A total of 51 people had paid for memberships.

The operator of the salon had allegedly changed its business license several times to evade litigation and refunds. Shenzhen Consumer Council received dozens of complaints about the salon under different names.
