THE Shenzhen tourism administration signed an MOU with Dubai Hala China Executive Council on Monday to develop cooperation in the culture and fashion industries, as well as the creative and tourism sectors, the Shenzhen Evening News reported. According to the memorandum, Shenzhen Week activities will be held in Dubai before the end of the year to showcase Shenzhen’s latest achievements in culture, design, tourism and creativity, and to promote cooperation between the two sides in trade, investment and cutting-edge technologies. The Miss Model of the World final, which has been held in the city for 14 years, will also organize an awards ceremony at Shenzhen Week to increase its global influence. Suha Alpayli, founder of the Miss Model of the World International Organization, is a globally well-known elite in the fashion field. The contest, initiated in 1988, has been organized 30 times, attracting 40,000 models from 100 countries and regions. Hala China is a three-year program initiated last July that aims to enhance economic and cultural exchange, and drive investment cooperation between Dubai and China, through an annual calendar of tailored events and tour packages that span seven categories: stay, shop, eat, play, explore, wellness and concierge.
