E-commerce

THE State Administration of Foreign Exchange (SAFE) issued a guideline Monday to facilitate the settlement for cross-border e-commerce.

According to the guideline, payment institutions are allowed to offer market entities electronic payment services via banks under current accounts, depending on relevant electronic transaction information.

They can also provide Chinese residents with foreign exchange services for cross-border shopping, overseas education and tourism, the guideline said.

4 killed, 2 missing

FOUR people were confirmed dead and two remained missing after a flood hit a village in South China’s Guangdong Province on Monday night, local authorities said yesterday.

A wooden shed was buried by a landslide after a rain-triggered flood hit Niujiao Village in Jitian Township, Lianshan Zhuang and Yao Autonomous County, in the city of Qingyuan at around 9 p.m. Monday, according to the city’s emergency management bureau.

Tougher checks

THE country has required pig slaughterhouses to conduct self-checks under the monitoring of veterinarians to curb the spread of African swine fever, according to a statement from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs Monday.

The ministry expects that compulsory checks can help it find out the situation in slaughterhouses, and track their epidemic control and the whereabouts of their pigs and swine products, the statement said.
