Spilled Milk: Based on a true story
    2019-05-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Brooke Nolan spends her life trying to protect her younger siblings from their father’s explosive anger, but she pays a special price. With sensitivity we are walked through the life of the girl and her family that reaches a crisis point when Nolan decides to reveal her family’s secrets.

It’s a glass of spilled milk at the dinner table that forces her to speak about the cruelty she’s been hiding. Nolan makes an anonymous* phone call to social services about the escalating* brutality* in her home.

In her pursuit for safety and justice Nolan battles a broken system that pushes to keep her father in the home, and she risks losing the support of family, coming to the realization that some people simply do not want to be saved.

“Spilled Milk” is a novel of shocking narrative, triumph and resiliency*. A well written book that rings true, it will inspire a lot of people who are experiencing similar situations in their lives. The strength of the character could also give them the same courage to stand up and seek help.

K.L. Randis, author of best-selling novel “Spilled Milk” and the “Pillbillies” series, has written numerous local publications that brought awareness to domestic violence and child abuse.

“Spilled Milk” is her first novel. She lives in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, the United States with her family. (SD-Agencies)
