A TOTAL of 132 overseas institutions from more than 50 countries and regions will participate in the exhibitions, cultural exchanges and trades at the 15th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) to be held between Thursday and Monday.

The exhibition area for overseas exhibitors takes up 23.5 percent of the total exhibition area at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, the main venue of the fair, according to the organizer.

Over five days, the fair will be held at the main venue and 66 subvenues across the city.

Hall 7 at the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center, an exhibition hall specially designated for the Belt and Road Initiative, has attracted delegations from the U.K., France, the U.S., Canada, Poland, Australia, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Iceland, Turkey and Spain to showcase their culture and arts, creative design, video animation, cultural education, tourism, and arts and craft.

Some of the countries will organize government delegations and cultural enterprises to attend the fair to seek cooperation through matchmaking business negotiations.

The organizer has established partnerships with 60 overseas agencies and invited 21,000 exhibitors from 103 countries and regions.

Local traffic police have set up a bilingual service to help visitors, including foreign nationals coming to the main venue, with their questions or if they have an emergency. They can call 8445-1468 or 8445-1469 to reach the on-site police office, or 8333-3333 for the traffic police command center.

Vehicles entering the parking lots of the main venue need a special certificate issued by the police. Police will also use drones and the intelligent traffic system to monitor traffic and efficiently handle traffic accidents.

Parking violators on the roads in the area around the main venue will be fined 500 yuan (US$73.6). The penalty will be increased to 2,000 yuan if the violator causes traffic congestion.

As the only international cultural industries fair and the largest in China, ICIF has become a calling card for Shenzhen and a trade platform for China’s cultural products and projects.
