Chinese Renaissance

The Chinese Renaissance event at the PAFC Mall has transformed the shopping mall into an entertaining place in Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) styles. More than 300 cultural products are on sale at the Forbidden City Chinese Festival Flash Shop.

‘Energy’

The “Energy” exhibition attempts to present the nature of art production. Participating artists are Liu Qingyuan, Luo Peng, Tang Xiao, Wu Xiaohai and Zhao Jun.

Dates: Until July 10

Venue: Boxes Art Space, Building 11, Lan Ying Fang, OCT Harbor, Baishi Road, Nanshan District (南山区白石路欢乐海岸蓝楹坊11栋盒子空间)

Marc Riboud’s photos

Old photos of China taken by French photographer Marc Riboud (1923-2016) are on display. The 35 exhibited photos were taken from 1957 to 2002. In 1957, he visited Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Chongqing and Anshan, as well as their neighboring villages. He visited China again in 1965, 1971 and then almost every year since 1979, capturing China’s rapid changes.

Dates: Until May 26

Catarina Braga

Portuguese artist Catarina Braga is exhibiting her photographic works and installations at “The World Is Not the World” exhibition. Braga studied multimedia art at the University of Porto in Portugal and conceptual art, video and printmaking at the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Wien in Austria. “Constantly questioning our relationship with reality, I use my artistic practice to open dialogues,” said Braga.
