A SLEW of creative cultural products designed by enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area are being exhibited in Hall 5 of the 15th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) main venue Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center in Futian District.

Hall 5, which was specifically set up for the Greater Bay Area as a response to the Greater Bay Area Initiative, has attracted over 30 high-quality cultural enterprises and creative design firms.

This year’s Hong Kong pavilion brings a total of 10 creative products designed by young designers either born or living in Hong Kong. The designs cover almost every stage of a person’s life, echoing the pavilion’s theme, which is “Creative design accompanies people for a lifetime.”

Deng Yuerong, director of the Shenzhen Liaison Unit of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR) Government, told the Shenzhen Daily that although the products were designed in Hong Kong, they were manufactured in mainland cities, such as Shenzhen and Dongguan.

“This cooperation is a good opportunity for all cities. As the market in Hong Kong becomes more and more saturated on the one hand and more policies are going to be issued under the initiative on the other, the Bay Area will become increasingly attractive to young entrepreneurs in Hong Kong,” Deng added.

In the Macao creative pavilion, seven local traditional food shops with a long history, such as herbal tea store U BO WO, restaurant Fok Lam Seng and Tai Long Fong Casa De Cha, have revamped their brands with new designs.

This year the Cultural Affairs Bureau in Macao, has joined hands with the Cultural Industries Fund of the Macao SAR Government to launch the design event and help refresh the brands.
