A FASHION show featuring designs by 31 fresh fashion design graduates from the College of Design of Shenzhen University was held Friday night on the main campus of Shenzhen University.

A key activity at the Shenzhen University subvenue of the 15th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) themed around exploring the inner self, the show presented a total of 127 design pieces, showcasing the strength of innovation in the city’s fashion industry.

Young designers used different content from both Oriental and Western cultures, as well as new materials and technologies, in their designs to express their thoughts about themselves and the world around them.

Those who had been studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Belgium under an exchange program through the school also brought design works to the event.

Celebrating its 25th anniversary, and after many years of research and experience, the fashion design department has cultivated a group of high-quality graduates with its market-centered teaching model.

Students are not only encouraged to maintain their personalities but are also offered many opportunities to participate in big design competitions held at home and abroad.

Additionally, the school has been actively seeking cooperation with enterprises. For example, it has established long-term cooperation with the Shenzhen-based fashion company, ELLASSAY, which also sponsored the event.

The prize-winning designs were announced and awarded at the end of the show. It was said that many of the students had been accepted into the world’s top-class universities, such as the University of the Arts London and Hong Kong Polytechnic University, to study for their master’s.

The department’s leaders, professors, teachers, enterprise representatives and guests attended the event to celebrate with the students, their beloved family members and friends.
