Chinese Renaissance

The Chinese Renaissance event at the PAFC Mall has transformed the shopping mall into an entertaining place in Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) styles. More than 300 cultural products are on sale at the Forbidden City Chinese Festival Flash Shop.

Marc Riboud’s photos

Old photos of China taken by French photographer Marc Riboud (1923-2016) are on display. The 35 exhibited photos were taken from 1957 to 2002. In 1957, he visited Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Chongqing and Anshan, as well as their neighboring villages. He visited China again in 1965, 1971 and then almost every year since 1979, capturing China’s rapid changes.

Violin recital

Described by The Guardian as a performer of “fearless intensity,” British violinist Tamsin Waley-Cohen will present Beethoven’s “Spring Sonata,” Debussy’s “Violin Sonata in G Minor,” Elgar’s “Violin Sonata in E Minor, Op. 82” and a Heifetz-arranged tune from Gershwin’s opera “Porgy and Bess.” Waley-Cohen has established herself as one of the most insightful and versatile young violinists.

Carol Tsang’s photos

Carol Tsang, an alumna of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, is exhibiting her photographic works in Shenzhen. Entry is free. Tsang captures the dreamy illusion of nature from a brand new angle.
