Everything goes as planned, says China coach Jia
    2019-05-31  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

CHINA coach Jia Xiuquan on Wednesday showed his satisfaction over his team’s preparation for the upcoming FIFA Women’s World Cup.

“Our team is preparing for everything as planned,” Jia said in Auxerre, France, on Wednesday, five days after the team arrived in France for final preparation, adding that his players have been over the jet lag.

“I don’t ask them to be the best as it will inflict much pressure, but just be themselves,” he pointed out.

Jia believes that his players can cope with pressure well before a major competition.

For Jia, the team boasts some experienced players, who can carry the team to go far in the tournament.

China will face Germany, Spain and South Africa in group stage at the World Cup.

“We have been offered so much support in recent years, and we will get in our own way,” he said.

“I don’t feel the pressure. We just need to show ourselves in a big tournament,” said Lou Jiahui ahead of her second World Cup appearance.

China will kick off its World Cup campaign in Rennes against Germany on June 8. They will play hosts France in a friendly match Friday as the final tune-up to the quadrennial football tournament.  (Xinhua)
