Polluters on trial

SIX people and three companies were prosecuted by Futian District Procuratorate on charges of allegedly polluting the environment through their handling of waste machine oil at a car maintenance shop.

According to prosecutors, the suspects forged hazardous waste transfer bills and signed contracts under the disguise of the names of other people with several car maintenance and sales companies to recycle the waste machine oil.

They sold 12 tons of such oil in Dongguan between September 2017 and May 2018.

Metro train intervals

THE trains on Metro Line 5 from Tanglang and Liuxiandong stations to Qianhaiwan Station have started to depart at 6:09 a.m., 25 minutes earlier.

On workdays, the intervals of trains running from Minzhi, Wuhe and Bantian stations to Qianhaiwan Station between 8:05 a.m. and 8:20 a.m. have been cut from three minutes to two and a half minutes.

SHENZHEN Customs seized bags of strelitzia reginae seeds, a plant that is commonly known as Mandela’s Gold in South Africa, from three inbound passengers at Luohu Checkpoint on Saturday. As they couldn’t provide related quarantine certificates, Shenzhen Customs intercepted the seeds.
