Instagram lets users add song lyrics for singing along
    2019-06-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

Instagram wants to make it easier for users to sing along with their favorite songs. The firm is rolling out a new tool that lets users add lyrics when adding a song to their Instagram Stories. Users can access the feature by opening up the Instagram camera, then navigating to the “Music” tab.

From there, they can search from the songs available on Instagram Music and pick a track. The lyrics will then pop up on screen, where users can edit the typeface and add animations, among other features.

Pop star Billie Eilish appeared in a demo* video showing off how the new lyrics feature works.

“Music can be a big part of expression on Instagram — between adding music to Stories, connecting with artists, sending song recs back-and-forth, there are lots of ways to connect with music on Instagram,” said an Instagram spokesperson.

“Now, we’re building on our music features and introducing the ability to add lyrics when you add a song to your story.”

Unlike the feed, Stories are ephemeral*, lasting for up to 24 hours at a time, before they disappear.(SD-Agencies)
