Boston Dynamics’ robo-dogs are set to go on sale later this year. It’s not yet clear how much Spot will cost buyers. Boston Dynamics is still testing the robots out in a variety of environments, such as package delivery and surveying work. The four-legged robot has terrified viewers by opening a door and dragging a truck by itself, as well as autonomously* loaded a dishwasher. Boston Dynamics offers a few different versions of the robo-dog, including the Spot Classic and the Spot Mini. The Spot Classic is designed for both indoor and outdoor use. It relies on 360-degree lidar* technology to navigate and can carry up to 45kg. Spot Mini is smaller in size and can carry up to 14kg. Using a simple handheld controller, users can tell the robot where to go, maneuver* its robot arm and other actions. There are cameras on every side of the device, making it useful in roles on construction sites. (SD-Agencies) |
