Housing provident fund

SHENZHEN Housing Provident Fund Management Center issued a notice last week, announcing a change to the maximum contribution base of the housing provident fund, which goes into effect July 1.

The adjusted contribution base shall not exceed three times the average monthly wage of the city’s on-the-job workers in 2018, according to the notice. The maximum contribution base is 27,927 yuan (US$4,037) and the minimum 2,200 yuan.

CPI in May

THE city’s consumer price index (CPI) was 3.2 percent higher in May compared to the same period last year, the city’s statistics bureau said. Rising food prices was the major driving force for the price increase.

Steel bridge

A TEMPORARY steel bridge was put into use Saturday night to relieve congestion at the Huangmugang intersection because the transport hub project is under way, sources from the Shenzhen rail construction office said.

The use of the bridge will adjust traffic for southbound and northbound vehicles.
