Duplicated plates

SHENZHEN police seized a total of 395 cars with duplicated license plates between January and May with the help of big data, a decrease of 11 percent over the same period last year.

AED rescue

A FEMALE passenger who collapsed at Gangxia Station on Metro Line 1 at 9 p.m. Tuesday was rescued by Metro employees with the help of an automated external defibrillator (AED). The passenger was later taken to a hospital by medical workers arriving at the scene.

So far, 519 AED devices have been installed in Metro stations in Shenzhen, covering seven Metro lines, and can be accessed within three minutes.

Timepiece fair

THE 30th China (Shenzhen) International Timepieces Exhibition will open in Hall 1 and Hall 9 of the Shenzhen Convention and Exhibition Center today.

More than 400 manufacturers of well-known global and local brands will be displaying their products at the exhibition, sources from the Shenzhen Timepieces Association said.

Bird bodies

A WOMAN was caught at Luohu Checkpoint carrying 222 bird bodies to enter Shenzhen.

The bodies were later confirmed to be specimens of white-throated kingfishers. The woman claimed that she wanted to use the feathers of the birds to decorate her jeans.

CPUs in milk cans

A YOUNG woman was caught last week at Luohu Checkpoint carrying 80 computer CPUs hidden in two milk cans.

The CPUs have a total market value of 48,000 yuan (US$6,970).

Girl survives fall

A 5-YEAR-OLD girl luckily survived a fall from the third floor of an apartment building in Guanlan, Longhua District, on Monday.

The girl climbed out of the window of the bathroom and fell. She was later rushed to a hospital. According to police, the girl is in stable condition.
