Worker turns himself into influencer
    2019-06-20  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

FORGET Zoella and company, there’s a new social media influencer on the block, and he’s definitely worth a follow.

He’s called Omar, and he’s a construction worker and dad from Austin, Texas, the U.S.

Until recently, Omar had no idea what an influencer even was, so he asked his daughter. His response? “Pssh, I could do that.”

So he created the Instagram account @justaconstructionguy and began sharing beautifully curated images of his life. In just over a month, he’s racked up over 342,000 followers.

The best part? You won’t see any cliche shots of him sat on a beach, pensively looking at the ocean, nor reclining on a giant pink flamingo lilo in an outside pool, sipping a smoothie.

An Instagram natural, Omar delights his followers with some classic influencer faves.

There are numerous fancy coffee shots, images of his outfit for the day — high vis vest and helmet — laid out carefully, and the ever-popular leading someone by the hand shot.

Omar’s fans are full of praise for his style of infuencing.

One starry-eyed follower wrote, “He is everything I want to be. (Strong, funny, looks great in yellow).”
