THE weather will be hot with occasional rain this weekend and Monday, during which the high school entrance examination will be held.

Nearly 80,000 students will sit for the entrance examination at 142 examination venues across the city. Exam takers can call the police hotline 8333-3333 for help if faced with an emergency.

Employment subsidy

ENTERPRISES that have paid unemployment insurance, or whose laid-off rate is below the city’s average registered urban unemployment rate, can register online at http://www.gdzwfw.gov.cn/portal/guide/11440300695583248530511025000, the official website for Guangdong government services, to apply for employment subsidies by Oct. 31, the city’s human resources and social security bureau said. Those applicants that passed review before June 30 will receive the subsidy before Oct. 31. Those that apply between July 1 and Oct. 31 will get the subsidy before Dec. 15.

Free installation

THE city started installing electronic toll collection (ETC) devices for free Wednesday. The device includes an E-serve card and its electronic label.

Residents can call 96533 or use the E-serve app, the official website www.96533.com or WeChat account to make reservations. They can also have the device installed at an ETC service station or an outlet of Bank of China, Agricultural Bank of China, Commercial and Industrial Bank of China, Construction Bank of China, Bank of Communications and Postal Savings Bank of China.

Job injury insurance

SHENZHEN lowered the cost of occupational injury insurance by 50 percent May 1 to further relieve the burden on enterprises and improve the business environment. The benefits for employees covered by the insurance are not affected by the policy change, the city’s human resources and social security bureau said Wednesday.
