Tollgate operational

THE new Baguang Tollgate on Yantian-Baguang Expressway was put into operation yesterday.

The 29.1-km expressway is a major road for traffic between Yantian CBD, Luohu and Dapeng. The tollgates between Yantian and Dapeng, including Dameisha, Xiaomeisha, Xichong, Tuyang and Kuichong, will be dismantled.

Hot day subsidy

EMPLOYERS in Guangdong Province are required to give out high temperature subsidies of 150 yuan (US$21.85) per month between June and October for those who work outdoors or in working environments where the temperature cannot be lowered to below 33 degrees Celsius.

Employers failing to honor the rules will be fined between 2,000 and 10,000 yuan.
