Man gets 5 days inside for soaking Baidu CEO
    2019-07-05  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE man who poured water over Robin Li, CEO of China’s biggest search engine Baidu.com, has been given five days of detention, Beijing police said on their Weibo account Thursday.

The police said they received the report from the tech company Wednesday, alleging a man disrupted order at a company-sponsored event.

The police didn’t reveal the motives of the man or his identity, only saying his surname was Cheng.

Cheng dumped a bottle of water over the head of Li when the latter was making a speech at Baidu AI Developer Conference in Beijing. Li appeared startled, but simply asked the man calmly, in English: “What’s your problem?”

Cheng quickly walked off the stage and Li resumed his speech. Cheng was then apprehended by security.  (Shanghai Daily)
