City’s social insurance base upped
    2019-07-08  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

THE average monthly wage of the city’s on-the-job workers rose to 9,309 yuan (US$1,351) in 2018, an increase of 961 yuan compared with 2017, according to data released by the Statistics Bureau of Shenzhen, the Nanfang Daily reported.

The minimum monthly wage of Shenzhen’s workers remained at 2,200 yuan. The average monthly wage of employees in Guangdong Province in 2018 was 6,338 yuan.

Accordingly, the adjustment of the average monthly wages in the city and province have affected the calculation of the limits of various social insurance payments in Shenzhen between July 1 this year and June 30, 2020, according to the city’s social insurance fund management bureau.

Take one kind of the insurances as an example, the maximum contribution base for medical insurance shall not exceed three times the average monthly wage of the city’s on-the-job workers, while the minimum shall not fall below 60 percent of the average monthly wage.

In this case, the maximum and minimum medical insurance payments have increased to 27,927 and 5,585 yuan, respectively, for employees who participate in the payment for the first type of the medical insurance.

The maximum contribution base of the maternity insurance payment grew to 27,927 yuan, while the minimum remains at 2,200 yuan.

Regarding the basic endowment insurance, the adjusted contribution base shall not exceed three times the average monthly wage of the province’s on-the-job workers in 2018, which is 19,014 yuan. The minimum contribution base is the city’s minimum monthly wage. (Liu Wenjin)
