    2019-07-09  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

MORE school seats will be added this fall in Futian, Nanshan, Longgang and Longhua districts, according to the Daily Sunshine.

A new high-quality makeshift campus in Yuanlin Subdistrict, Futian, which will be under construction soon, will enroll over 200 new first graders in September and offer 1,800 places in the future, said the report.

Futian is mulling the construction of Bagualing No. 1 and No. 2 primary schools. Following their construction, students studying at the makeshift campus will be transferred to these new schools.

Nanshan District plans to build and extend four schools, which will add 3,000 seats.

At present, the construction of the main buildings of Longyuan School, a special education school, has been completed except for interior decoration. The school will open four classes and two classes for first and seventh grade students, respectively, in the fall.

Gangwan School will be ready to enroll students for this fall after the construction of an outdoor playground. The extension projects of Shenzhen Bay School and Haibin Experimental Primary School are expected to be concluded by the end of this year.

A total of six schools in Longhua, namely Longteng School, Chuangxin Experimental Primary School, Longhua District No. 2 and No. 3 foreign language schools, Shenzhen Xingzhi High School, Shenzhen Xingzhi School, Longhua No. 3 Primary School, Longhua Affiliated School of the National Institute of Education Sciences and Runze School (for special education), will open 64 classes, offering 3,218 places in September.

Additionally, public schools in Longhua will add 6,600 seats for first-grade students and 2,300 for seventh-grade students.

The balance of supply and demand regarding school seats in Longgang is basically stable at the moment, according to the report.

Longgang education bureau told the Daily that the district will build three new schools, including Xiantian Foreign Language School, Affiliated School of Nanjing Normal University and Affiliated School of Shanghai International Studies University.

Meanwhile, Pinghu Middle School, Mumianwan Primary School and Yishanjun Primary School will be expanded.

The six projects will be able to provide 10,500 public school seats, including 1,150 for first graders and 1,200 for new junior school students. (Wang Jingli)
