German delegation pays visit
    2019-07-10  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A DELEGATION of eight representatives from innovative German firms and research institutions visited Bao’an District from Sunday to yesterday, the Bao’an Daily reported.

The delegation attended a seminar organized by the district’s authorities, paid visits to local companies and discussed issues like potential opportunities for cooperation and project promotion with Chinese representatives.

During the seminar, the district’s industry and information bureau and other organizations introduced local entrepreneurial environment and policies for talent housing to the delegation. The German delegation later presented its promotional projects, some of which caught the Chinese attendees’ attention.

For instance, professor Francesco Maurelli with Jacobs University Bremen in Germany introduced a submarine robot project that can be applied to areas like deep-sea scientific exploration and exploitation of offshore oil and natural gas.

After an in-depth discussion, the German team reached an agreement with the district’s industrial robotics technology innovation alliance to set up an underwater robotics research center in Bao’an.

In order to better understand Bao’an’s economic and industrial development, the delegation also visited Han’s Laser Technology Industry Group Co. Ltd. and the Entrepreneurship Island for Returned Overseas Talents, among other places. Laser cutting, welding, metal 3D-printing and other technologies were presented to the delegation at the laser company.

During the visit to the entrepreneurship island, not a few of the German representatives started to think about setting up businesses in the district after talking to a German company that had settled down in Bao’an this May.(Liu Wenjin)
