CHIC demo session China Hardware Innovation Camp (CHIC) originated from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne and has attracted students from universities in Switzerland to participate. If you haven’t heard of CHIC, you are warmly encouraged to join the CHIC demo session Wednesday. CHIC is an academic-industry cooperation program offering a unique opportunity for students to experience the steps from idea to prototype of product, innovation in team-work and cross-culture environments to solve real-world challenges. CHIC represents an interdisciplinary approach, combining knowledge and practical elements of engineering, design, and business. It therefore offers a great learning opportunity for students keen to push the boundaries of their disciplines. CHIC features Swiss-China cooperation in many perspectives. It has been a model of academic-industry and cross-culture collaboration. Time: 7:30-9:30 p.m., July 17 DIY Robocars DIY Robocars is a 20,000-member community organized by Chris Anderson, who also runs drone company 3DR. The community builds cheap, disposable cars using Raspberry Pi and neural networks and cheap and simple computer vision racer with OpenMV or Jetson nano. Shenzhen Chaihuo Maker Space now is joining hands with DIY Robocars to organize a meetup for Shenzhen members to exchange ideas and make small self-driving cars.
