Typhoon-hit beach opens
    2019-07-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

XICHONG Beach, a well-known tourism resort on Dapeng Peninsula, will open more areas this summer for holidaymakers.

The beach facilities were seriously destroyed by Typhoon Mangkhut last September. It was partially opened this May after reconstruction.

For the coming summer holiday, the Nan’ao Subdistrict Office decided to open the No. 3 beach, which covers 1,000 square meters including the 300 square meter shark prevention net area.

For the opening of the new beach, the subdistrict office has set up 40 shower rooms and service centers using 20 containers. The government has also cleared three parking lots offering 1,500 parking spaces and installed 50 portable toilets.

The inn managers in the Xichong area are also taking the reopening of the beach as an opportunity to attract holidaymakers by offering weekend dining packages. (Han Ximin)
