    2019-07-17  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

BAO’AN students have once again achieved good results on the senior high school entrance examination, according to the Bao’an Daily.

Statistics show that one student obtained a score of 450 points, ranking among the city’s top three. Four students from the district are ranked among the city’s top 10 this year. The number of students with a score of 440 points and above has increased by 150 percent over the previous year.

The senior high school entrance exam is an important symbol of the quality of the nine-year compulsory education. The perfect score of the exam is 460.

The number of candidates for the high school entrance exam has increased this year by 15 percent across the district and 22 percent in private schools, according to the Daily.

Compared with last year, the average score of all disciplines on the exam remained relatively stable. The number of students getting an A+ in the various disciplines has grown substantially.

It has also been reported that Bao’an initiated an education internationalization action plan for 2020 to 2022 on July 9.

The research team for the action plan is led by Huang Liyan, vice president of the School of Foreign Studies of South China Normal University.

Team members also include the school’s experts and postgraduates, experts with the School of International Studies and the School of Foreign Languages of Sun Yat-sen University, and researchers from Guangzhou and Foshan.

The team will conduct research in Bao’an for about a year, with the aim of exploring the possibility of education internationalization in the district and forming an action plan with distinctive characteristics. The plan is also designed to provide comprehensive and systematic guidance on the management of foreign teachers, the teaching of minority language courses and the training of foreign language talents.  (Zhang Yu)
