BAO’AN District has started planning the construction of greenways along rivers and the coast, and around lakes and its reservoir. The overall plan, which is expected to be completed before the end of August, outlines 46 greenways along rivers, 10 around lakes and reservoirs and 26 km along the coast, according to a report by the Bao’an Daily. The total length of the greenways is 255 kilometers. This year, the district will pilot the greenway project at the 12.9-km section of the middle and upper reaches of Maozhou River and the area around Shiyan Lake. The Bao’an section of the Maozhou River program, which runs 6.1 kilometers, has been listed in the provincial program. The provincial program will be completed in April 2020. The program is subdivided into 32 projects in five categories, including water environment, architecture construction and renovation, lighting, transportation and roads, and landscaping. The major construction of the greenway around Shiyan Lake will be completed before the end of November. It will stretch 28.1 kilometers, with pavilions and service venues where people can rest. The district also plans to complete the greenway construction in the water system covered by Tiegang and Shiyan reservoirs before November. The length of the greenway in the area is planned to extend 81.34 kilometers. It includes a big circular route around Xiwan, a small circle around the airport area, and three greenways along the flood discharge channel of Tiegang Reservoir, Yingrenshi River and Jiuwei River.
