Yantian, Guangming building more schools
    2019-07-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

YANTIAN District will expand or renovate 10 schools in the coming three years, according to a Southern Metropolitan Daily report Thursday, quoting sources from Yantian District Education Bureau.

Two new schools, Haixin Primary School and Haixin Kindergarten, will open in the spring of 2022, providing 1,980 school seats. The two schools will adopt a more student-friendly classroom design, an advanced system for picking up children in the underground garage and a greater abundance of function rooms for various activities.

“Their cutting-edge design explores more possibilities for space management in school and education in Yantian District,” said the bureau.

Additionally, 10 schools will be expanded or renovated with an investment of over 1.2 billion yuan (US$174 million) in the next three years, which are expected to accommodate an additional 7,500 students.

In Guangming District, a public secondary school will be constructed and open in September 2021, offering 1,800 school seats, according to a report by Shenzhen Economic Daily.

Nestled to the north of Huaxia Road, the project covers an area of 1.79 hectares with a total investment of 346 million yuan.

Facing the huge demand for schooling, the education bureau in Guangming District has been beefing up its efforts to add school seats in recent years.
