Trainees wait for months to start driving courses
    2019-07-26  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

MANY trainees at a local driving school complain that the school has failed to arrange driving lessons for its registered trainees and to return tuition to those who seek a refund, the Southern Metropolis Daily reported.

The driving school is a subsidiary of a company called Shenzhen Zhujianqiang Internet Technology Co. Ltd. in Nanshan District.

According to a trainee surnamed Xie, he terminated his contract with the school June 15 and the company promised to return his tuition within 15 workdays. He hadn’t received his refund as of 5 p.m. Monday.

Another trainee surnamed Yang said she signed up at the driving school and paid the tuition via e-commerce platform Tmall on April 23. However, she still hadn’t received her number ticket that is required for driving tests as of July 18. She signed a refund contract with the school but is worried that the company might fail to honor it.

According to the Daily, many of the school’s advertisements can still be seen in places like buses and elevators as well as on video platforms such as Bilibili and Douyin at present. The school’s products can also be found on Taobao and Tmall.

A staffer with the company surnamed Chen said the company had been sued by its previous partner this March, which caused the company to suffer from a capital crunch.

According to Ding Long, a lawyer based in Shenzhen, the company is deemed to be breaching contracts if it fails to provide refunds to the trainees by the deadline specified in the contracts.  (Liu Wenjin)
