Funds for development

THE Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, received a 10-million-yuan (US$1.45 million) donation from Changhong Charity Foundation recently.

The funds will be used for the scholar research programs in the university’s Life and Health Science Department, including the costs of researches, projects and the training of doctorate and post-doctorate students.

Heavy rain to come

A NEW round of heavy rain is expected to affect the city between Thursday and Friday, relieving the scorching weather that has been lingering over the past week, a source from Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory said.

Robotics industry

THE production volume of Shenzhen’s robotics industry reached 120 billion yuan in 2018, an increase of 14 percent over the previous year, according to a report jointly made by Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technologies and Shenzhen Robotics Association.

Allergy forum

THE 1st China Allergy Friendly (Commonweal) Summit 2019 was held at the Four Seasons Hotel Shenzhen on July 26.

Co-hosted by Bingpian Technology and Airland Group, the summit was attended by experts in the medical and mobile health care fields as well as representatives from high-end hotel groups and the household industry.

The summit aimed to localize international standards for an allergy-friendly China so as to provide better lives for those affected by allergies.
