CRISTIANO RONALDO has added to his seemingly endless trophy collection after being honored with MARCA’s Legend award in Madrid on Monday. The Portuguese superstar has been honored by the publication in recognition of his achievements in soccer and his record-breaking tenure with Real Madrid. “This trophy is going to be in a very nice place in my museum,” said an emotional Ronaldo. “Madrid is special; I travel a lot but there are few cities like Madrid. Much of this award is derived from what I did at [Real] Madrid.” MARCA selects individuals who have dominated in their sporting profession, after creating the award in 1997. Ronaldo’s soccer rival Lionel Messi scooped up the award in 2015. Ronaldo has won five Champions Leagues, four Club World Cups, three European Super Cups, three Premier Leagues, two La Liga titles, one Serie A title, one European Championship and the UEFA Nations League. Ronaldo has also scooped up the elite Ballon d’Or title five times so far during his career. The top scorer in the history of the Champions League (127 goals), Real Madrid (451 goals) and Portugal (88 goals) has left his mark on every club he has played for, in addition to his country, and there is no denying that the 34-year-old is one of the greatest players of all time.
