Wing it 即兴发挥
    2019-08-12  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A: Have you prepared the presentation for the comparative literature course?

B: Not really.

A: There’s only one day left. What would you do then?

B: I will just prepare an outline and wing it.

Note: “To wing it” is to do something in an impromptu manner. It means to improvise. It is a theatrical expression which refers to impromptu performances given by actors who had hurriedly learned their lines while waiting in the wings and then received prompts from there. This phrase dates from the late 19th century.
