Heavy rain hits parts of Shenzhen
    2019-08-13  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

HEAVY rain struck parts of Shenzhen, including Pingshan District, the northeastern part of Longgang District and Dapeng New Area, yesterday afternoon, according to Shenzhen Meteorological Observatory.

Yellow, orange and red alerts for torrential rain were issued for these areas.

The rainfall was sudden and strong, meteorologists said. The largest rainfall of 132.7 millimeters was recorded at Biling Station in Pingshan.

The rainfall distribution yesterday was extremely uneven, as most parts of the urban area saw no rainfall or less than 2 millimeters of rainfall.

There will still be heavy rain in parts of Shenzhen today, the observatory forecast.
