Missing man found after five years
    2019-08-16  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

A WOMAN in her 50s surnamed Chen has finally been reunited with her son in Shenzhen after more than five years of searching, the Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported.

According to Chen, who is from the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, her son, surnamed Liu, went missing after moving to Shenzhen for a job five years ago.

However, Chen’s search had not made any progress until recently, when she received important information from the police in her hometown, which said that Liu’s ID information was on the police’s internal system and had been collected by Yutang Police Station in Guangming District.

Chen, accompanied by her relatives, immediately went to Yutang Police Station to seek help. With Chen’s information, the police confirmed Liu’s information and retrieved his address.

The police then took Chen to the address, which was in Changzhen Community in Yutang Subdistrict. Unfortunately, when they arrived at the apartment, they did not find Liu.

Chen became very emotional at that moment. Police continued their search in the area. Luckily, 30 minutes later, they found Liu in another rental apartment.

Liu told the police that he had accidentally lost his mobile phone in 2014, so he could not contact his family. Over the five years, Liu said that he did not earn much money, which made him feel too ashamed to return home. (Wang Jingli)
