GUO ZIPING, head of Bao’an District Government, noted at a meeting that a schedule should be made for promoting the work on building high-quality and high-standard public schools and hospitals, the Bao’an Daily reported.

At the same time, private schools and hospitals should also be used to make up for Bao’an’s shortages in medical and education resources, according to Guo.

In terms of education, eight schools are under construction in Xin’an, Xixiang and Hangcheng subdistricts, which are expected to add 18,360 public school seats. However, the available education resources still fail to meet the real demand, said the report.

Regarding medical services, these three subdistricts are ramping up efforts to expand and build hospitals to address the uneven distribution of medical institutions.

Guo urged the relevant departments and subdistricts to set up schedules to ensure that the work can be completed on time. Guo especially mentioned the renovation of the Bao’an District Central Hospital in Xixiang Subdistrict.

“The district government will provide ‘absolute support’ to education and medical causes,” said Guo.
