Naomie Harris to star in ‘The Third Day’
    2019-08-30  08:53    Shenzhen Daily

“MOONLIGHT” actress Naomie Harris is set to star in HBO/Sky’s limited series “The Third Day,” joining previously announced star Jude Law.

According to HBO, “The Third Day” is told over six episodes in two distinct halves. The first half, “Summer,” is directed by Marc Munden and follows Sam (Law), a man drawn to a mysterious island off the British coast where he encounters a group of islanders set on preserving their traditions at any cost.

The second half, called “Winter,” is directed by Philippa Lowthorpe and follows Helen (Harris), a strong-willed outsider who comes to the island seeking answers, but whose arrival precipitates a fractious battle to decide its fate.

Co-creators Dennis Kelly and Felix Barrett will executive-produce the series, with Adrian Sturges producing. Kelly, Kit de Waal and Dean O’Loughlin will write the series.

“The Third Day” hails from Sky’s new production house, Sky Studios, in partnership with Plan B Entertainment, Punchdrunk International and HBO. HBO and Sky are also behind the popular miniseries “Chernobyl” and the upcoming miniseries “Catherine the Great” starring Helen Mirren.

“Filming for ‘The Third Day’ has begun and it’s been a remarkable experience seeing our shared vision come to life. We’ve followed both Naomie’s and Philippa’s careers for several years, and we are thrilled they will be joining the production,” Barrett said.

Harris is currently in production on Cary Fukunaga’s James Bond movie “No Time to Die,” reprising her role as Eve Moneypenny. She first entered the Bond franchise with 2012’s “Skyfall.”

“The Third Day” will air in 2020 on HBO in the United States and on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in Britain.(SD-Agencies)
